To date, my family and I have stayed in more than 10 Airbnbs over the past 3 years and would love to give you suggestions for how to stock your Airbnb with the best products.
What do you provide?
Not all Airbnbs are created equal and owners have the ability to choose how much or how little to provide their guests. In most cases, staying within a particular budget is the primary reason behind what an owner chooses to do. However, we all know that Airbnbs that are “stocked,” typically get higher ratings and better reviews.
At minimum, I highly recommend offering some (or all) of the following:
- minimal everyday cleaning supplies such as disinfectant and an all-purpose cleaner
- dishwashing detergent (liquid or pods)
- laundry detergent and fabric softener
- air freshener (spray or plugins)
If you really want to wow your guests, you may consider providing:
- body soap
- body lotion
- shampoo and conditioner
- coffee
- drink mixes (for water)
- snack foods (think of a welcome basket)
What You Provide Matters
Even if you choose to provide the bare minimum – what you provide matters. If you’re not already ingredient and allergy-conscious, allow me the opportunity to help you understand what lots of families encounter today.
Over the past 10 years or so, there has been an increase in popular companies cutting corners with their ingredients, which has resulted in lab-made concoctions that have posed serious health threats (especially in children). From chemical burns and rashes to asthma attacks and cold-like flare ups, most products used by Airbnb owners fall into this category.
