Instead of using the term “homeschooling,” we like to call what we do lifeschooling or travelschooling. This best describes our belief system around what real education looks like. Over the years, homeschooling has taken a definition that doesn’t quite do it justice.
For us, we immerse our children in everyday situations and use them as prime teaching moments. Instead of placing extreme emphasis on reaching manmade milestones, we allow our children to show us what they are ready for, and when.
Yes, we do have structure. And yes, they learn the basics of reading, writing, math, geography, science, etc. However, what sets a lifeschooler apart from most traditional homeschoolers is the ability to learn vital skills that will become more important as they reach adulthood.
Homeschooling Resources
If you take a gander at our Shop, you’ll find a variety of homeschooling resources. Since we’ve been in the process of restarting our blog, most of them have not been transferred, but you can find all of them in our Teachers Pay Teachers Store and a few paperback resources on Amazon.
We also have lots of homeschooling resources on our YouTube Channel.
In addition to hosting our own homeschooling conference – The Multi-Ethnic Homeschool Moms Conference – for 2 years in a row, Michelle has spoken in a wide range of online homeschooling conferences:
- 2020 Homeschool Mom Conference
- 2021 Homeschool Mom Conference
- Makeover Your Life Summit
- How to Homeschool Conference
- (upcoming) Homeschooling Teens Summit
